Froggy - the deviant

Froggy – pre-hair As those of you who've read my earlier posts have surmised, I've stuck to the same basic form since the start. There's still lots of variety, I maintain, and I plan on continuing with that pattern until evolution takes over. There is, however, one deviant – it emerged in the early stages and began it's life as a caterpillar: let me explain. I scoured the net for inspiration, I needed help getting started and help in learning simple things. So I was very happy to find a video clip that showed the viewer how to create a caterpillar by cutting out circles, stuffing them and then sewing them together. The stuffing

  Naturally, the stuffing needs to be soft. There are lots of different types of super soft stuffing on the market, much of it natural, organic. It was important to me, though, to use the scraps of material I had on hand: old sheets, duvet covers, socks, whatever. Of course, all perfectly cleaned! Tearing the material into strips of various lengths, then rolling them up and scrunching them into the WD, works pretty well. The result is not unlike the feel of a bean-bag. Since a WickiDoodle's main purpose in life is to make people smile, it doesn't need to do anything else - it can't stand, it's not a puppet, it's not a toy: although it can do all those things and more depending on the imagination of the owner!  It can perch on a shelf and be a companion. Or be among the pillows on your bed as a companion. That means, the texture of the stuffing is not important. It just needs to be safe.
